Where is the Scenic Rim?

The Scenic Rim (download Scenic Rim Map)is a semi-circle of volcanic mountains about 110 kilometres south-west of Brisbane.it is a key stopping-place on the Great Sunshine Way to which it gives those following the route,  peace, beautiful music and fine dining on locally produced food.

It is a dramatic barrier of rugged escarpments, towering peaks and sunken valleys which remain clad in a mixture of pristine rainforest, open forest and bush. It has played a great role in the historic development of Australia and has many stories and relics of an important past.The Scenic Rim is the name given to the rim of an ancient volcano with a circumference of 200 kms.
